Love Bear Card

If you are looking for my Project Life post with SOUS please just scroll down. Thank you.
I decided it was time again to make another card. It has been so long since my last one. I was really missing it. Here today I have a card I created for the My Craft Spot blog challenge - Polka Dots. I searched through my pattern paper which wasn't easy, and found this really cute polka dot and decided to make a Valentine's Day card. I pull out my Cricut cartridge Create a Critter 2 and found the bear and knew it would be perfect. I cut it at 4". The card itself is cut at 4-1/4"x 5-1/2". Here are the rest of the details:

  • Cricut cart: Create a Critter 2
  • Cardstock: Bazzill
  • Paper: Pebbles, Carolees Creations
  • Ribbon: Really Reasonable Ribbon
  • Stamp: My Pink Stamper - Love
  • Ink: Versafine - Onyx Black
  • Rub-on: Basic Grey
  • Adhesive: Scotch, Zig
I really hope you like my card as I think it is pretty cute. Thank you so much for coming to my blog and looking around. Have a great day. :)

SOUS Project Life Challenge - Embossing

Well here is my page for the Stuck On U Sketches Project Life Embossing Challenge. I used a Becky Higgins Design E page for my page then I decided to dry emboss one of the 4 quarters. I used my Cuttlebug and Cuttlebug folder Snowflakes for the embossing. I had to emboss the paper twice because the folder isn't 6 inches wide. It was pretty easy with this folder as the snowflakes aren't lined up. Other embossing folders could prove to be more difficult if used. After embossing I placed the vellum saying on with brads and placed the snowflakes all around. This is a pretty easy challenge to try, and don't forget we are giving away blog candy on our main site if you enter any of the projects this month. Up your chances and do more then one challenge!
One of our co-founders wanted us to talk a little about starting Project Life since it was the beginning of the New Year. So I thought about writing about what you will need to start such a venture. I found it way more easy if you start out with the simple basics like the pocket pages, an album, and some sort of 3x4 and 4x6 cards. I will admit I stuck with mainly Becky Higgins products because she had all the basics. I got her Big Variety pack of pocketed page protectors, a couple of core kits and a We R Memory Keepers album. It will cost around $80, but if you happen to find a really good sale at Michaels with coupons it can be purchased for a lot less. There is also mini kits, kit clubs, and other card kits you can buy from other manufactures too but you don't really need them to start.
I hope this helps someone out there who is thinking of starting some sort of Project Life scrapping. Good luck and just have fun with it. The best part of it is there are no rules on how you do it, so just do it and fall in love with it like I have. :) Have a great week and please if you have any questions feel free to leave a comment.

Family Layout

Here is a layout I did of my family on Christmas day. The last family picture we did was when I was 6 years old! My Mom's Christmas gift from my father last year was to have all her children together for Christmas and that is what my Dad gave her. What a site it was too.

SOUS Project Life Challenge - Vellum

So Sorry for the delay in getting this post up but I have been very sick with Bronchitis and it has kicked my butt. So here is Stuck On U Sketches Project Life Challenge for Jan 13 2014 using Vellum. I will have to say that I struggled a little at first on where I was going to place vellum on my page. Then I remembered that I had these vellum packs that I bought on QVC back in the day and knew they would be perfect. I used the vellum saying across one of my family pictures that we took on Christmas. Then I decorated it a little with some sequins I had to hide where I placed the glue to hold it on with. It turned out better then I thought.
So now it is your turn to play. We at SOUS challenge you to place vellum somewhere on your Project Life spreads. You know you have some from back in the day that you bought when it was so popular to use it. Pull it out and see what you can do with it. Remember also that SOUS if offering some special scrap candy this month from Scrap Shotz to one lucky winner so lets see your work.:)
Thanks so much for coming to my blog and seeing my design. I hope you all have a great day and great rest of the week.
