SOUS Die Cut Challenge - If It Has Wings

Welcome to my blog! Here is my project for the Stuck On U Sketches Die Cut Challenge - If It Has Wings. I am so sad that this is my last project with them. Nanne and Leah have decided to move on to new things and end the blog site, but it will remain open for you all to gather inspiration when ever needed.
Today I have this cute tag for you that I created. It is using the Cricut cartridge Best of 2006. It is an old one but still a goody to me. I used my Cricut Explore to cut it out then I decided to emboss the dragonfly's wings to give it some cool texture. I wanted this tag to have the feeling of texture on it and the look of the dragonfly flying off the page. Next, I put stickles to give it some sparkle onto the wings, body, and tail. I just used corresponding colors. Then I wanted it to look like it was in the flowers so I used some flowers I got from the Dollar Tree and used some old yellow flower eyelets to hold them on with. I pop dotted the dragonfly to the tag and here you go. Here is a list of supplies:

  • Cricut cart: Best of 2006
  • Paper: Own Stock
  • Cardstock: Bazzill
  • Flowers: Dollar Tree
  • Eyelets: Doodlebug
  • Stickles: Yellow, Purple, Lime Green
  • Ribbon: Ofray
  • Staple: Fastenator
  • Adhesive: Scotch, Zig
Thank you so much for taking the time to look at my last blog post for SOUS. I wish the best of luck to both Nanne and Leah. Have a great weekend! :)

SOUS Die Cut Challenge - Arrows

Hello and welcome to Cards By Cricut. Today I have a treat for you with a Stuck On U Sketches Die Cut Challenge - Arrows. I had a hard time with this challenge and it actually took me until today to get it done because I just couldn't come up with an idea for it card wise. So I went onto the SOUS blog and looked at Leah's beautiful layout she did and was completely inspired to do a layout instead of a card this time. I do make layouts occasionally but I mainly make cards to display on my blog.

I used my Cricut Explore and Cricut Design Space to make the two arrows. I just typed in "arrows" into the search box and it gave me a ton to look at. After I chose what I wanted to use then I simply sized them and cut them out. It is so easy to use and no one should feel intimidated by CDS. Next I got out my paper from both DCWV Little Miss and Stampin' Up! to use with this layout. After I cut everything and got
my picture on (who is my new niece Elise after just having a bath), I started decorating the page. I used the ephemera pack from Pink Paislee "Bella Rouge". I love this line as the colors are fantastic and go great with this paper line. When I was all done I took my picture to share with all of you. Here are the details:

  • Paper: DCWV Little Miss paper pack, Stampin' Up! Blushing Bride, Crushed Curry, Tip Top Taupe
  • Epherema: Pink Paislee Bella Rouge
  • Title: Sizzix for Stampin' Up! Thinlits Hello You Dies
  • Adhesive: Scotch, Zig
I really hope you like my layout as apposed to having a card this week like I usually do. And don't forget to join us over at Stuck On U Sketches for this great challenge. Just link up your project with the Mister Linky located in the right column. Hope to see you there and have a great weekend! :)

SOUS Die Cut Challenge - Home Sweet Home

Hi and welcome to my blog. If you have come here from Stuck On U Sketches then you are in the right place and thank you for visiting my blog and post. This week we had the Die Cut Challenge of Home Sweet Home. I loved this theme and knew instantly what I wanted to do. I found the idea on Pintrest and knew that was what I wanted to do. First off I used Baked Brown Sugar from Stampin' Up! as my card base. I then stamped all the little houses with Stampin' Up! ink Tangelo Twist and Basic Black. Next, I die cut all the houses out and placed them onto the card popping up the Baked Brown Sugar one in the middle. I then worked on the banner. Using Whisper White, Tangelo Twist, and Baked Brown Sugar I die cut the banners out, stamping on them first using Tangelo Twist and Basic Black. I then tied black and white twine in the corners to make it look like they are holding up the banners. I finally stamped the sentiment using Tangelo twist and pop dotted it onto the card.
Thank you so much for coming to my blog and looking at my post. Remember that over at SOUS we have a top 3 for those that participate in our Home Sweet Home Die Cut Challenge. Just go here. Thanks again and have a great weekend.

SOUS Die Cut Challenge - Industrial

Hi and welcome. Today's project is from Stuck On U Sketches Die Cut Challenge - Industrial. Industrial can mean a few different things, gears, clocks, cameras, typewriters and such. I decided to use some gears and clock hands. I used Cricut Design Space for all the cuts on my Cricut Explore. The bottom red layer is cut at 5-3/4"x 5-3/4". The sentiment is cut at 5.67"x 3". And the clock hands were cut at .75"x 2" and .75"x 4". I used a red brad to secure the clock hands to the card. Here are the rest of the details:

  • Paper: Stampin' Up! Real Red, Basic Black, Whisper White
  • Cuts: Cricut Design Space
  • Brad: Oriental Trading
  • Adhesive: Zig 2 way Glue

SOUS Die Cut Challenge - In The Garden

Hi and thanks for coming to my blog today. Here is my project for the Stuck On U Sketches Die Cut Challenge. For this week our challenge is In The Garden. With Spring now officially here I wanted something that showed Spring. So I did this really cute caterpillar crawling it's way on a flower. I used the Cricut cartridge Live Simply for the die
cut. I cut it out at 2-3/4" and pop dotted it to make it stand out. I embossed the back layer with a Cuttlebug folder Juli's Garden. I wanted something in the bottom right corner so I cut this doily from a die from My Craft Spot which is sadly out of business now. I layered a button on top
and put a piece of twine through it. I finally placed a piece of yellow ribbon around the layer and place everything on top. The inside of the card says Happy Spring stamped on it. Here are the details:

  • Cricut cart: Live Simply
  • Paper: Own stock
  • Cardstock: Bazzill
  • Cuttlebug: Juli's Garden
  • Button: Own stock
  • Ribbon: Ofray
  • Doily: My Craft Spot
  • Stamp: My Pink Stamp Happiest Moments
  • Ink: Versafine in Onyx Black
  • Adhesive: Scotch, Zig
Thanks again so much for coming to my blog and looking at my project. Don't forget to visit SOUS and join our Die Cut challenge this week of In The Garden. Post your link here. Well, have a great weekend and a great Spring. :)

SOUS Die Cut Challenge - Clothing

Hi and welcome to my blog! I am here this week with a new die cut challenge from Stuck On U Sketches and it is Clothing. This challenge was a little difficult at first because I had no idea what I was going to do with it. I decided at first to look through my stamps and see what I could come up with for a saying to go with my design whatever it was going to be. After I saw the saying "Hang in there" I came up with the idea of a clothesline. I then searched my Cricut cartridges for a clothesline die cut. I found the perfect one from Country Life.
I cut the line out at 4". I also decided that I wanted a real line instead of the paper one so I took a piece of twine and glued it to the paper line. The clothespins were just glued on top of it. I then put white eyelets in the corners. I stamped the card with the My Pink Stamper stamp and there you have this really cute, but inspiring card. Here are the details:

  • Cricut art: Country Life
  • Paper: Bazzill
  • Twine: Own stock
  • Eyelets: Doodlebug
  • Stamp: My Pink Stamper
  • Ink: Versafine Onyx Black
  • Adhesive: Scotch, Zig
I really hope you like my project for the SOUS Die Cut Challenge - Clothing. It really was fun to put together and I like the way it came out. Thanks so much for coming to my blog and taking a look. Have a great weekend! :)

SOUS Die Cut Challenge - Key To My Heart

Hi and welcome to my blog! First I want to say I am so sorry this is up so late. Life got away from me and I forgot but I have it up now :) Today we have a new challenge from SOUS and it is called Key To My Heart. At first I thought of using a really cute svg file from Miss Kate Cuttables but I decided to go a different route. Anything chocolate, especially cupcakes, are the Key To My Heart so I am going to use the literal meaning of Key To My Heart.
I am using a standard A2 card base of 4-1/4" by 5-1/2" to start off my project. Next I chose to use a cupcake from Cricut cartridge Sweet Treats cut at 4-1/2". I
decided to use Valentine colors to using the suggested colors in the booklet. I embossed the top of the cupcake to give some dimension to the frosting and added some cute sequins as candy sprinkles. The sentiment on the bottom is using a die cut from My Craft Spot. It is hard to see the dimension of it
sticking out but it gives a little more flair to the card. Here are all the details:

  • Cricut cart: Sweet Treats
  • Paper: Doodlebug Lovebugs
  • Cardstock: Bazzill
  • Ribbon: Really Reasonable Ribbon
  • Sequins: Own Stock
  • Stamp: My Pink Stamper
  • Ink: Versafine Onyx Black
  • Banner: My Craft Spot
  • Adhesive: Scotch, Zig
Thanks so much for coming to my blog and looking at my Stuck On U Sketches Die Cut Challenge - Key To My Heart project. This card was so much fun putting together with all the extras. My favorite part would have to be the banner. Love the dimension. Well, have a great weekend everyone and thanks again for coming! :)

SOUS Die Cut Challenge - Warm and Cozy

Here is my Stuck On U Sketches Die Cut Challenge - Warm and Cozy. I had a little trouble at first coming up with idea of a project for this challenge. I had to think about what makes me all warm and cozy and I came up with the idea of a nice warm beverage of either a hot coffee or hot cocoa with nice melting marshmallows on top. I knew then I had my project. I started with the Cricut Lite cartridge Love A
Latte. I used my Cricut Explore to cut it out and did a beautiful job at all the tight corners. I am really loving my Explore. I cut the cup out at 4-1/2". This gave plenty of room for my stamp on top. I used foam adhesives to pop the cup up off of the card it's self. Here are all the details:

  • Cricut cart: Love A Latte
  • Cardstock: Bazzill
  • Ribbon: Really Reasonable Ribbon
  • Stamp: My Craft Spot
  • Ink: Versafine
  • Adhesive: Scotch, Zig
I thank you so much for coming to my blog. And thank you for looking at my SOUS Die Cut challenge project. I hope you all have a great weekend. :)

SOUS Die Cut Challenge - Snow

Hello and welcome to my blog. Here is my card for the SOUS Die Cut Challenge - Snow. I was inspired to make this card after we got our first snowfall on Jan 1st, New Year's Day. All the animals searching for food through the snow. I used an A2 sized card for my base along with a light blue layer cut at 4 x 5-1/4. The next layer I cut was 3-3/4 x 5 and then I embossed it.  I cut the tree from Cricut cartridge Jolly Holidays at 4 inches. The robins were cut from Cricut cartridge
Winter Woodland at 2 inches and 1-1/2 inches. I placed stickles on the snow at the base of the tree and the snowflakes. Here are the rest of the details:

  • Cardstock: Bazzill
  • Embossing: Cuttlebug's Snowflakes
  • Ink: Blue Lagoon from Color Box
  • Stickles: Diamond
